What if Michael Bloomberg, Tom Steyer, and a host of other billionaires who would be king were to back bank loans to those federal workers who are no longer receiving paychecks because of Donald Trump’s childish behavior?

What does it say about America today that we can barely imagine any such thing actually happening?

I don’t know how practical that’d be even if the wealthy had the inclination to do so. As people with a voice unlike ME (even though I roar in my little corner of the world) they can bring pressure to bear on reasonable lawmakers. What baffles me is, why aren’t the federal employees (almost a million of them) not on the streets screaming bloody murder about being used as pawns in this f*****g political game being refereed by an idiot. We seem to have lost our will to demand our dues. What is happening to our democracy? I grew up under a dictatorship and frankly I’m frightened by the directions we’re heading.
    He wants a military parade
    Only he can fix things
    Admire other dictators
Would love to have people bow and clap when he babbles

    Good luck to us!!!!

I actually cannot think of a time or place ever in the world where private citizens, no matter how wealthy, would offer to do such a thing. It would be awfully nice of them to do so, but perhaps it would be more practical at this point to apply their considerable clout towards pressuring Congress and Trump to end the shutdown.
